Mrs Sharon Kirk

Presbytery Minister of the Downs Presbytery 

Uniting Church in Australia. 

Sharon took up the position of Presbytery Minister of the Downs in October 2007. Her husband David joined her in December to take up the position of Principal of RockvilleState Primary School. Sharon cameto the Downs from Gladstone Central Queensland where she taught music both privately and in the schools as a music specialist. Since becoming a member of the Unting Church Sharon has been active  as a lay person in congregational life as a Musician, Worship Leader, ElderAnd Church Counci Chairperson. She has served the wider church as the Presbytery Secretary for Central Queensland, participating as a member of the Council of Synod, Assembly and the Synod Leadership Team. Sharon is a strong advocate for lay training and has been influential in facilitating the concept of regional campuses for ministry training and formation.

Sharon's prayer for the Downs Presbytery is that each congregation and faith community willl be faithful, fruitful communities of Christ.
